SW Snaps
Parallel spring snaps set the standard all over the
world.
"SW" parallel spring snap fasteners are popular around
the globe. UFI's parallel spring snap fastener features a smooth consistent
snap action with the reliability of a post attachment, enchanced by
a wide range of optional tops and finishes. "SW" snap fasteners are
the definitive choice for quality manufacturers of performance apparel
and accessories.
Parallel spring snap fasteners achieve their unique
snap action from the mechanical advantage created through a wire-formed
spring inserted into a slotted bowl-shaped socket. Because of the socket's
design with the enclosed spring assembly, the function of the snap is
protected from contamination of foreign matter. The result is maximum
snap performance under the worst conditions. Whether your garments are
subjected to snow, ice, rain or other harsh environments, the "SW" snap
system ensures a reliable snap closure each time.
The Universal Advantage
"SW" snaps are available in two sizes, the SW-30
and the SW-60. Both are designed for applications requiring fasteners
with a light to medium snap action. Each size is compatible with 20 or
24 ligne snap tops made from nylon, rubber-type synthetics, stainless/brass,
or solid brass. All other components: sockets, studs and posts are solid
brass. These components are rust-resistant and can be finished in a wide
range of plated metallic and oxidized finishes. Variations in post lengths
expand the range of application foundation thicknesses that the system
can be applied to. Custom designs and personalized logos are available.
Considerations
Basic applications range
over a variety of woven fabric weights and thicknesses. The application
of a "SW" fastener on knit fabrics is not recommended in most cases.
Post attached fasteners are best suited for applications on woven fabrics.
Attachment
Attachments can be made using
a basic footpress, pneumatic footpress, electric flywheel press or a
fully automatic Model II attaching machine. Logo designed snap tops
can be automatically registered during attachment using an automatic
attaching machine specifically designed for this purpose.
